The Guardian (7/21/2020): I took a closer look at the cognitive test Trump claims to have aced

The test is called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), and was created by the neurologist Dr Ziad Nasreddine in 1996.

One version of the standardized test can be viewed and downloaded from https://www.parkinsons.va.gov/resources/MOCA-Test-English.pdf. It's also available from several other sources.

What continues to puzzle me is that as far as I'm aware, nobody is pointing out the patently obvious, which is that anyone can download the test, determine all of the answers, and memorize them before taking the test itself. This test is designed to be administered to people who desire an objective assessment of their own cognitive faculties and have no motive to cheat, not to ruthlessly corrupt politicians known to lie and deceive whenever it suits them.



The Guardian article notes "There are a few different versions of the test with small variations (such as the words to remember or animals to name), but the questions are generally the same. We can’t tell for sure which version Trump took..."

Trump spoke of a lion and a giraffe so apparently it wasn't the version above, but if there were a few different versions in existence at the time Trump took the test, and Trump didn't know which one to expect, that would only mean a little extra memorization.
