Michael Cohen said Thursday that all roads lead to former President Donald Trump, at least as far as the indictments handed down against his family business are concerned.
Cohen, Trump's former personal attorney, reacted on CNN to Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg being placed in cuffs and charged with grand larceny, among an assortment of other crimes on Thursday, marking it as a signal the walls are closing in on the former commander-in-chief.
Both Weisselberg and the Trump Organization were charged in New York State Supreme Court for their role in a 15-year-long tax avoidance scheme, which allegedly used off-the-books benefits for top executives in order to evade payroll taxes.
Cohen began the interview by claiming the documents prosecutors have obtained link Trump to nearly every business decision made with the organization that bears his name.

(9,951 posts)... and was happy to hear Mr. Cohen's perspective. The general tone, it seemed to me, was that this isn't such a big deal.

(7,844 posts)in that Trump's business is under scrutiny...this doesn't end with Weisselberg's indictment...and if anyone thought Weisselberg was going to flip on Trump, it's obvious he's as corrupt and contemptuous of the law as is his "employer".. Trump, Weisselberg, Calamari are gangsters down to their DNA

(13,903 posts)sheesh they just sprung Cosby for God's sake. I imagine any of these Trump a-holes have cash stashed away and can easily pay off any fines and restitution. If they do manage to put them in prison it is going to the white collar minimum with tennis courts. As much as I want to see it, I am not optimistic that the Pig himself will ever seen the inside of a prison cell of any kind.

(1,789 posts)we all know the routine, he will appeal, then appeal up to the Supreme Court on the grounds that he lost the appeal, etc. For somebody who doesn't pay his lawyers, he sure works the shit out of them.

(32,630 posts)Whether he goes to jail or not, it's all the same. He's not getting out of this and he'll never run for anything again, including dogcatcher of Mar-A-Lago.
I hope they all go to prison, but maybe that's not in the cards.
