If she simply tested positive for weed then this whole thing is stupid. I am not a weed user, but it seems silly to prevent someone from participating in the Olympics just because they use weed. Can Cannabis enhance someone's athletic performance? I can see how someone might use Cannabis to calm their nerves before a race, but I would not see calming one's nerves before a race as a performance enhancer.

She can get the suspension reduced to 30 days under certain circumstances, so maybe that will work out for her.

Her mother died the week before the trials. Tough turn of events for her.
