He tries to help, but doesnt. In most cases, he actually makes things worse, and that was the case during the pandemic last year according to Yasmeen Abutaleb, health policy reporter at the Washington Post, and Damian Paletta, its economics editor.,,,,
As we know, the government response wasnt great, but things were worse than we thought. Like Jared Kushner, and his idea to divert testing to drive-thrus in the private sector, like at CVS and Walgreens.
When he came in and wanted to launch that initiative, he actually caused a two-week shortage of testing because all the swabs and a lot of the personal protective equipment had been diverted to this drive-thru site, said Abutaleb.
They also walk host Molly Jong-Fast through Dr. Deborah Birxs semi-private confrontation with Mike Pence and the pivotal moment Trump officials made fun of former HHS Secretary Alex Azars underwear mask.

with a faint smile, to an expression that indicates he smelled something awful, to this sneer. If he doesnt watch it hell end up like Dick Cheney: a formerly sort-of attractive guy who morphed into someone with a grotesque and permanent sneer.
I saw some early photos of Jared, before he met Ivankas surgeon. He was a cute Jewish boy with dimples in his cheeks. What a pair those two are a bit like Michael Jackson, demanding that plastic surgeons excise some tragically sick inner part of themselves in the guise of perfecting their outer selves.
Oh, sorry, that was probably way off topic. And yet Jared and Ivanka, two supremely unqualified spawn, have been the beneficiaries of nepotism their entire lives.

(7,737 posts)I have looked at photos of Ivanka and Jared, pre-plastic surgery and wondered why they are doing that to themselves. It's horrific to see two fairly attractive people do that to themselves. I wonder how they feel when they look at old photos.

(9,090 posts)not only did they see it as a money maker, when the intel briefings gave former guy worst case scenarios they saw opportunities and dollar signs.
in their greed and stupidity they they wanted it to get worse and kill millions - the emergency powers, delaying elections, and so on
Putin used talk radio similarly in Brazil and India
dems need to investigate and not be naive - trump is insane with sex on the wrong brain and sees everything as a game of golf - one hole after the other. consequences, complications, collateral damage are not considered. only how can money be made.

(25,959 posts)I think about too long, so I'll be brief: Kushner's "it's our stockpile" and "thats their problem" comments set the situation in stark relief for anyone who hadn't been paying enough attention up to that point. Good riddance to to such grasping, sociopathic trash.

(12,419 posts)I think it's both. I think he has an inflated view of his own competence that prevents the kind of self-criticism smart people employ to achieve goals, AND he is always looking for an angle that feathers his own nest. Corrupt and incompetent, he straddles the dividing line in Cipolla's chart between the "bandit" and "stupid" quadrants, a perfect specimen of the double-threat who belongs in some sort of museum of the dangerous, which we commonly call prison. No wonder TFG seems to admire him as he must remind TFG of himself.

doing the right things and actually having to think and wait and try so save people was not as profitable as making things worse

(46,061 posts)When the administrators of the Frisch Yeshiva (his high school) heard that Kushner was going to attend Harvard, they were amazed as he was a solid-C student. (His father's "donation" of millions helped the Admissions decide.) All for naught as Kushner had the advantage and opportunity to learn to make up for his academic deficiencies but either couldn't or wouldn't. Again, unqualified, he enrolled and graduated with a joint JD/MBA from New York University. He reminds me of the Dorothy Park quip: Asked to create a sentence with the word, horticulture, Parker remarked "You can lead a whore to culture, but you can't make her think."
And that, my friends, is how a famously unqualified, inept, incompetent being such as Kushner failed with the Covid relief (and Mid-East peace).
