Update - now Hurricane Elsa - hurricane warning for Barbados

is approaching Barbados with winds of 60mph and gusts as high as 81mph (Cat1) and heavy rain affecting residents. Lots of roof damage
Bim radio suggests they have a few more hours of really bad weather as Elsa enters the Caribbean

Elsa is the earliest “E” storm in the satellite era dating back to about 1966, meteorologist Denver Ingram, National Park Service Regional Remote Automatic Weather Stations coordinator for the Southeast, wrote Thursday in an emailed update about the storm.

Looks like Jamaica will get lucky again

I have not been back in years but it was my first island, my first ocean experiences, my first actual jet flight and I was already 28 years old. Nice people (exceedingly nice), beautiful island and I will be forever in love with the memories. I hope this does not hurt them too much (or at all).

I'm in SOFL, too, but even though he's in Tampa, he is the best weather guy I've ever seen.

so flooding is unlikely - and Cat 1 is not life threatening -should mostly roof damage, flying debris, trees down, etc.
This won't be major

Been a long time since we faced a hurricane warning although we're barely in the cone

Good news - moving at 30mph That said this one is hard to predict
