Thank you, LakeArenal, and all on this thread! DU and DUers have gotten many of us through some very tough times but also come together to celebrate our successes!

I knew that Kentuck and I both came to DU in 2001, but I had no idea we registered on the same day. Colorado was soooo RED back then, but by 2008 many like-minded Coloradoans came together to elect Obama and to turn Colorado purple/blue. Now it is quite blue. I credit my time on DU with motivating me to be active in politics--or at least more so. There are not many online communities that so thoroughly update current issues and news while quickly countering that which is not true. Not to mention a much-needed place to vent and/or regain perspective.
