3. I agree completely, this should be top story across the country.. not talking about a plane crash..

where some died, but a catastrophe that killed hundreds.

...........................I am not blaming anyone for anything about the condo collapse ,

...but CNN certainly should have the heat wave deaths as a top story...It is not even listed as
important news at the current link in the original post

If the same thing happened in "The Heartland" or somewhere in the East coast it would be big news.

6. And why would that be improtant? CNN not reporting it?

We've bee warned about climate change for decades and thus no one should be surprised by the events in the Pacific Northwest.

7. You appear to be confusing CNN with journalism

And I assure you that it is not. It is Drama TV Infotainment which occasionally brushes up against journalism but is really their to fill airtime between ads for drugs we never knew we needed.

An example is Hearst playing a key role in starting the Spanish-American War so he'd sell more newspapers and make himself richer.

The point I was attempting to make. It does seems that far too many hang on the words of the various talking heads on Cable Infotainment for the latest outrage and that to me is a great cause for concern.

14. Both CNN and MSNBC work to keep power in conservative hands.

Opposing much of the right that's gone crazy and threatens business stability makes them relatively more left-friendly compared to 2016. But at that time they worked hard to throw the nation to the GOP, and the corporations that own and run them haven't changed. They're still protecting RW power.

9. To report that, they'd have to concede that climate change is real and happening

MSM — indeed, 90% of all media — is owned by 6 large corporations, and those corporations do not want the public informed about the existential threat that we're facing.

Just keep watching the teevee and buying a new phone every year; that's what the corporations want from you.

People being hauled out of apartments one by one does not make for gripping TV.

TV news is about gathering eyeballs for advertisers, not about what is important.

One hour a night news from the broadcast networks and D.U. is all I want. Cable news is all day of thoughts and questions and opinions I don't care about.

MSNBC only slightly better

They do what we used to call, shooting the ducks. (Low hanging easy fruit stories)
