Sometimes, one lawsuit just isn't enough. Early this year, Dominion Voting Systems filed individual $1.3 billion lawsuits against Trump conspiracy boosters Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, and Mike Lindell, but the voting machine company followed up in March with a $1.6 billion suit targeting Fox News for allegedly featuring election fraud conspiracies in an effort to boost its ratings.
Now Dominion has used the Fox suit to subpoena Powell, Giuliani, and Lindell for their correspondence with the outlet, according to Business Insider. The news was first broken by Bloomberg. Business Insider writes, "The subpoena asks Giuliani, a former New York mayor who also served as Trump's personal lawyer, to hand over all documents related to his appearances on Fox since 2016, alongside all communications with the network related to both the 2020 presidential election and Dominion."
Well, that correspondence is bound to unearth some doozies. Given what Giuliani serves up on air, it's pretty hard to even imagine what he relayed off-air.
Dominion is also seeking to understand Giuliani's relationship with the network, how formal it was, and whether he was paid or unpaid.

(16,360 posts)They probably either strongly suspect or firmly believe he was paid. But this is a lawsuit, so they have to get some hard evidence that will enable them to prove it in court.

(64,993 posts)I think they know(!) he's been paid.
I think it's doubtful they'd specify such documentation unless the already knew exactly what they were getting.
If this is true, and he was a paid actor, it very neatly ties the 2 suits together, and may force Faux to publicly disavow in their own self-interest.
Otherwise, it becomes hard to use the defense that they can't control what their guests say, and makes any other such reporting part of a pattern to impugn.

(9,760 posts)that clearly mean he's doing or wants someone else to do something illegal in a way that provide a sleazy kind of plausible deniability. He either inherited it or learned it from his father. Probably both.
