(6,573 posts)She put her whole athletic career on the line by smoking weed. It's on HER. It isn't what the US thinks, it's what the International Olympic rules say. I am sympathetic to her plight, but she needs to own it and salvage what she can, if anything. Why the hell did she have to do that?? Yes, I know about her Mom. She doesn't get slack for that in the rules. She should have known, and probably did know, but did it anyway. To be the probable best at something, and have the discipline to train, and then do this. Maybe being the best at something includes the mental discipline to not think you can bend that particular rule just because you don't agree with it. She can't even run the race for her Mom, now.
I don't mind someone pleading for her, but more and more I mind mislabeling something as racist when it has nothing to do with racism.

Biden went on to praise her for her video-shown apology to the people and acceptance of the rules.
I think Biden is the most presidential of presidents. He always knows the right the to say -- well, most of the time!
