Like if he went to prison, for example...

(113,950 posts)would undoubtedly be negotiated with the Bureau of Prisons and the US Marshal's Service, but there would be some USSS presence onsite.
Congress could pass a bill to clarify or limit protection as they have in the past.

Congress is not currently capable of passing any bill that affects Trump.

He is an ex-president and he does have knowledge that would be useful to our enemies. Perhaps the secret service keeps track of him.

If Trump sees prison time at all, you can be sure it won't be hard time in a maximum security prison, hanging out with the drug dealers and the car thieves. It wouldn't be that crappy an assignment for any Secret Service personnel stuck watching over him.

(15,909 posts)...it will be in a comfy Club Fed, or even comfier house arrest. And there would continue to be some form of Secret Service protection.
I'd love for it to be determined that the only truly "safe" place, safe for Trump and safe from fanatics who might try to break him out of prison, would be Gitmo.

I suspect he'll get protection, no matter what. But I don't like the thought.
