I was doing some research on a Bloomberg site and I ran across the 'Billionaire Index'. The number in the title is the total net worth of the 500 wealthiest individuals on the planet as of today.

I'll just leave this here and let it sink in, but to put it into perspective only two countries (the US and China) have GNPs greater than this total.
