Oklahoma GOP wants to oust Republican senator for voting to certify Biden's election win

The chair of the Oklahoma Republican Party is supporting a primary challenge to Sen. James Lankford (R-OK).

Oklahoma Republican Party chair John Bennett is backing a primary challenge to GOP Sen. James Lankford after criticizing Lankford's decision to vote to certify President Joe Biden's 2020 election victory.

According to Tulsa World, Bennett told reporters at a June 26 event that Lankford's vote to certify the election results is "proof that the senator couldn't keep promises made to constituents."

Lankford had waffled on his support for blocking certification of Biden's win.

1. Yep, I think he is in real danger.

The guy running against him is a true nutcase. A reich wing preacher who worships Trump above all else. He will easily carry the rural parts of this state and much of the suburban OKC and Tulsa area. I think Lankford signed his death certificate when he voted against Trump. I hate Lankford, but he is much better than his alternative trust me.

Must also agree to never even contemplate legislating in a bipartisan fashion or show any appearance of compromise. Should you be elected and be found to have not fully sold out your values and moral courage, you will be subject to being assassinated by your constituents.
