"SNIP.....
Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) told the New York Times that he suspects that certain members of Congress knew what would happen on January 6 and supported the attack on the Capitol.
Said Kinzinger: I wont name names, but yes, I do have that suspicion. I will say, if you just looked at Twitter the whole reason I brought my gun and kept my staff home and told my wife to stay in the apartment was looking at Twitter. I saw the threats.
He added: If you have members of Congress who were involved in nurturing an insurrection, heck yeah, we need to know.
......SNIP"

(30,613 posts)...and Kinzinger is somewhat of an ally in this matter. I hope we do pursue and arrest any Congresscritters who were involved.

(65,010 posts)At least more than a hunch from reading Twitter.
Carrying a gun isn't really in his character, even though he's a libertarian R.
I've been at credit union events which he attended. Never once did guns come up, either in prepared remarks or just chatting.
I disagree with him greatly on economic & business policies, but what he isn't is a RWNJ. Right wing, yes. But job, no.
A nutjob would have a tough time winning this district. His dominating wins in primaries reinforces that view.
I think he had more than just a hunch, but doesn't want naming names in public to distract from the actual investigation. He's pretty cagey, so he wouldn't go farther than hinting right now.
