Another grift? Just a sore loser? Or both?

Current headline in the Daily Fail

[link:https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9765073/Trump-announce-class-action-lawsuits-today-against-Facebook-Twitter.html|]

Not posting the copy in the article cause the far right spin they put on everything makes me want to heave. However have of course provided the link if you want to risk a click! LOL

Apparently Trump is going to do a press conference 11 am your time EST - to announce he is going to sue big tech yet again demonstrating that he has less of an understanding of the constitution than me as a Brit living 4000 miles away, she says modestly

So one has to consider his motivation for doing this? Is it just so he can potentially elbow his way back on the platforms to incite hatred and insurrection and try and overthrow the government? Probably that is part of it. But I have to tell ya if it is a class action suit how many readies do you thing he is planning to squeeze out of his far right cult members who have been given the boot from polite society to join in? Loads of money! Of course America First (So NAZI) is involved supporting the sore loser grifter in failed chief he be.

Relying on Trump to act responsibly was/is a bad bet.

7. Both, of course. Grifting and whining are what he does.

Of course the lawsuit will go nowhere, but that's not the point; the point is grifting and whining. And anyhow, the "class" has to be certified by a court, but it won't be because there are certain requirements that have to be met. This one won't come close.

I think I answered my own question. He needs these social media vehicles to keep him alive in the eyes of his fans and donors.

12. Why Trump's 'class-action lawsuit' is so hard to take seriously

I agree with Steve Benen/ This is a fundraising stunt

Complicating matters just a bit more, there have been related cases along these lines, and they've all failed: private social-media companies are not arms of the government, judges have ruled, and they have the authority to regulate content. Similarly, Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects companies from such lawsuits, still exists, Trump's incessant whining about the provision notwithstanding.

So why bother? Why go through the motions with a misguided public-relations stunt, rooted entirely in dubious claims and conspiracy theories that don't make any sense?

There's no great mystery here: "Before Mr. Trump was done speaking, both the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee had sent text messages about the lawsuit and asked for contributions. Mr. Trump's political action committee sent its own solicitation shortly after the event ended. 'Donate NOW,' it said."

I don't doubt that many will fall for this. Republican voters who've been conditioned to believe that Twitter and Facebook are big meanies toward conservatives will likely grab their credit cards to show their support for Trump and this pointless exercise.

But that doesn't mean this lawsuit has merit; it means the opposite

about why it was necessary to remove him from their sites. The whole thing is laughable that there might be a lawsuit filed by Trump using a law citing "decency" as the reason for the suit.
