don't get caught up in trivia. banning critical race theory is about pushing white supremacist myths

one of the many right-wing rhetorical tricks is to throw in mistakes and confusing logic strings in order to get people correcting these bits of trivia rather than defending against the main attack.

those who formulated the attack against "critical race theory" know damn will that the specific theory bearing that name isn't actually taught to k-12 students, and they must be thrilled to see the left and the media busily correcting them on this point.

they don't care. they're not interested in banning some specific, obscure, academic theory. they're just using that label as an excuse to require schools to push and perpetuate various myths that are central to the american white supremacy ideology.

the legislation and the broad push regarding "critical race theory" is actually all about requiring schools to deny that racial problems exist, to deny that there's any ongoing structural disparate treatment, and to insist that america is all wonderful and good and sweetness and light notwithstanding its history of slavery, which definitely has zero bearing on anything today.

watch what they do, not what they say. they're not actually talking about critical race theory when they use those words. they're talking about white supremacy, and banning anything that might counter with.

Why don’t you want children to learn about racism in American history and current events? Why do you want to hide the facts? Aren’t you against racism?

That’s way better than trying to talk about CRT.
