I think that is a key.

I can remember many times not taking people to task for crap they said or did because, I mean, it was easy and what harm could it do?

Now we see what harm it can do when taken to such a degree. They are the Lord of the Flies multiplied and not taking them to task because it was easy or 'impolite' has gotten us here.

After all, it is the adults in the room who need to maintain decorum, and as Democrats, the adults in the room, we have allowed the childish Repugs way too much leeway for way too many years and now we have to try to 'retrain them.'

Good luck. It's much easier with dogs than with children and Repugs are the 'evil children' we all feared in horror movies.

They have tried to kill democracy and in doing so have killed many humans indiscriminately along the way. They must be taken to task and punished. I can see no other way.

pushing propaganda.

They want to carry out a purge of academia, just like all totalitarians, and they want to make the idea acceptable to a significant percentage of the population, and they will say whatever it takes.

Trying to find any reasoning beyond that is an exercise in futility.

States can decide WHAT their kids learn in schools -- curricula content. How that gets done can vary from state to state.
States cannot tell professionals HOW to teach that content. That has a body of law behind it.

The whole idea that teachers can go BEYOND the minimum of the What, is what worries illiberals.
Usually it's why they home school kids, and why they want corporate privatization of schools, so that there isn't union backup for teachers who get targeted as 'too liberal.'

As long as all teachers teach to any state's curriculum -- documented in planning, assignments, tests, and approved texts -- they can get all that done in three out of the four marking periods of a school year. They can then do expanded activities that bring in relevant content. That way, they've done their job.

Everything that comes out of the GQP is bullshit. Everything.

It doesn't even have to make sense to their media-brainwashed followers at this point. They seem to have gone past that.

But they are, in fact, a cult of ignorant racist fuckheads, and all they do is viewed through the triple-lens of ignorance, racism, and fuckheadedness.

This especially applies to those ignorant racist fuckheads lurking here from their various incestuous KKKoncervative circle-jerk forums online.

... especially the religious sort.

I don't believe in religious "tolerance."

Authoritarian anti-intellectual religions should not be tolerated.

Government should aggressively support anyone who chooses to leave these religions with a strong social safety net.

The only true religious freedom is the freedom to say "no" to whatever religious beliefs were imposed upon you as a child.
