President Donald Trump berated his campaign manager, Brad Parscale, over lower-than-expected turnout at an indoor rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, last summer, according to a forthcoming book by the journalist Michael Wolff about Trump's final days in the White House.
"Has Brad actually ever done anything right?" Trump vented to his aides while Parscale was in the room, an excerpt of the book published in The Times of London on Tuesday said. "He's fed up everything."
The June 2020 rally was promoted as Trump's campaign-trail comeback after COVID-19 lockdowns halted most in-person gatherings. Before the event, the Trump campaign, including Parscale, boasted that nearly 1 million people had requested tickets.
The crowd turned out to be significantly smaller. After the rally, the Trump campaign claimed that 12,000 people attended. The Tulsa Fire Department said only about 6,200 supporters showed up.

(33,643 posts)Nobody was unable to get a ticket that wanted one due to their efforts.
IOW the teens didn't depress the turnout, they just tricked Trump and Parscale into thinking more would be coming than really did.

(13,557 posts)That was no doubt after they took all the social distancing signs down. They had that arena set up to at least have one space between seats.
Then there was the Herman Cain pic with the caption saying he was with a "few" of the African Americans attending. LMFAO! Wanna bet that was ALL of them? I'm sure it was. They rounded them all up for that pic.
