People in a field.
She is such despicable person. Its a good thing she has no shot at winning. When people show you who they are, believe them.
We have to provide some place for those people to go, whether its an open field out in some place, or if you notice at the veterans facility, she suggested. Theres these big open fields and a lot of places there.

(14,886 posts)against our Governor in this recall election. They're all talking about it. That's not a coincidence.
Jenner's contribution is unsurprisingly, considering the source, both vapid and depraved.

(14,886 posts)"we've got a plan to fulfill the moral imperative of everyone having a home" sort of thing. Not many are as... politically unskilled... as Jenner when describing what to do.
And even though some claim to have plans, none of the ones I've heard haven't been done before/aren't already being done. The rhetorical approach seems mostly to be about "this is still a big problem, he hasn't fixed it yet."
Really they launched the recall thing trying to take advantage of COVID (the high deaths/cases, the lock downs, and the economic impact) and the results of the rapid/effective vaccine rollout undercut their main argument, so now they are scrambling for something else to justify it besides pure partisan politics, which is all that it is really about.
We should not be having a recall election. I'm all for democracy and voter-driven political processes, but the threshold for getting shit onto the ballot (regular ballot initiatives, constitutional amendment initiatives, recalls) is way too fucking low. Anyone with enough money can get enough petition signatures for ANYTHING to get onto the ballot. Literally anything, it just takes enough man hours of bothering people to sign your stupid petition -- which just means enough money.

(83,633 posts)And here she is advocating homeless people should be dumped in a field. I wonder how many of those homeless are trans? Not that it matters she is rich and advocating that the poor be dumped in a field.
Seriously? She is running to govern the state of CA and calling for human beings in her state to be tossed away.
Way to win an election Cait.

If she didn't copy from the Trump playbook, she would stand for nothing.
Sadly, belonging to a minority group doesn't automatically give someone empathy or tolerance.

(21,646 posts)The rest of the country has to realize all areas have problems and are helped out or subsidized
One of Californias problems is the huge number of homeless due to pleasant weather
I would like to see homeless solutions addressed more on a national platform . We can all help states with this issue just like any disaster we all as a nation pitch in for with larger federal funding for homeless
Its not just Californias bad problem its our nations imo.
I live in Chicago + we have growing homeless problems here too just not the numbers like CA
Dont let it get worse and yes, ideas needed to help , but she is

(1,718 posts)I live near an Amtrak station and it's awful, there's a constant stream of homeless people who trash the place. They're not from California, but they're getting free tickets to get here.

(25,811 posts)I work (with a particular faith group) in the kitchen. Cooking meals and feeding our clients.
I've learned a lot. One is that a lot of homeless are clearly mentally ill. Others are simply down on their luck and just need a little bit of help.
I've been fairly poor at several points in my life, but never close to being homeless. But having been poor, I more or less get it. There for but the grace of some deity, go I. When I was a sophomore in high school I had a Saturday baby sitting job. Most Saturdays, when the mom was driving me home, I'd request we'd stop at the grocery store on the way so I could buy groceries. She was astonished that I'd spend the money that way. I could not imagine spending it on myself when we needed the groceries.
People who have never been on the edge have no idea.

That stupid show was often on the break room TV at work during my lunch, so I watched it more than I wanted back then.

(3,990 posts)They feel a social safety net rewards laziness, self-indulgence and drug abuse, and they truly see this as a blame the victim problem. They actually believe that putting them in a field will get them to see the light, to get off their lazy asses and get a job. Just as Covid relief benefits are disincentivizing employment opportunities.
There is no interest in the truth, no interest in helping out, no interest in community. These are nihilists who think going to church on Sunday and thumping their bible and waving their flags make them good Christians and patriots, when they are too close minded to see they are neither.
