The numbers tell the story. It's not Money - it's putting People first. #impact
The contrast between disinformation attacks on the Clinton Foundation by political operatives - and what the Foundation achieves through sheer perseverance - is stunning. Highly recommend reading how the "real" #ClintonFoundation continues to help people. The work continues.
Here's @BillClinton on the Foundation's path - almost 20 years now since opening in Harlem in 2021. The power of partnerships in civil society is needed more than ever, as we grapple with the late stages of this pandemic and try to build a better world for the next generation.
As I've said many times, the disinformation campaign against the Clinton Foundation (which continue to this hour) are direct attacks on civil society itself. Yet, the Foundation just continues its work - and its model of partnership has changed philanthropy. Remarkable.

(15,325 posts)I do see a lot of self enrichment tho, thru PACS, LOBBYING & "MONEY & MEDIA".
Not much in the way of philantrophy partnerships.
A lot of popular talk of the poor & left behind people, yet when it comes to actual legislation or using the power of personal celebrity to benefit those same underpriveledged, as the Clinton Foundation has steadily done for 20 years, those loud media voices fall dead silent over self enrichment.
Like the Carters, the Clintons are probably the most selfless & smartest & most loved of all.
You'll know them by their works~

(54,302 posts)The CGI is amazing. Cost effective, too. I remember in 2005, he was comparing how U.S. government aid initiatives had about 25% of their budget eaten up by expenses. With the CGI, it was more like 4%. Bill Clinton explained the difference simply: "because we were stupid, that's why!"
A year later, I asked him if he was considering any de-salinization projects in the Middle East to provide fresh water to irrigate food crops in parched areas on the Mediterranean. He said, yes, he already four underway. and was looking to expand the number.
Oh, yeah, and G.W. Bush is turning out some rather pretty paintings, I hear...........

(15,325 posts)Had American politicians & voters truly wanted this for all, as they claim to every election season, we would have had it all a long time ago.
This is always who the Clintons were, & what they aimed for.
Pity that America was left out of the gifts of their generousity.
CGI is indeed a brilliant partnering form of philantropy.
Appears from your post that the Clintons & CGI was GND before it ever became a fundraising campaign slogan.
That matter-of-fact brilliance of introducing desalinization (2005) doesn't surprise me at all. That they were there long ago.

(54,302 posts)The guy noted that just in his practice, people tossed away hundreds if not thousands of pairs of old glasses when they got new prescriptions. The guy suggested that, rather than discard them, why not ship them to someplace like India and giv them away for free? Obviously, the prescriptions in 99% of the cases wouldn't be an exact match. They knew that from the start. However, the likelihood was that they would restore near clear vision to people whose eyesight had deteriorated to the point where they couldn't drive, operate machinery, or even go shopping. The CGI put the eye doc's plan into motion and distributed hundreds of thousands of eyeglasses in India.

(15,325 posts)Well done..
The sites that rate charitable organizations rate the Clinton Foundation higher than the Red Cross.

(54,302 posts)The CGI is a far newer organization. They would have been looking at streamlining and trimming expenses from the start. The Red Cross was founded in Europe (Switzerland) 150 years ago. Reducing bureaucracy carries the death penalty in Europe (or close to it, it seems).

(58,785 posts)We did donate once, for communication equipment for a medical boat that visited isolated villages almost unreachable except by water. But it's really set up for more "professional" donors who communicate directly with groups soliciting funding for work on the ground around the planet. At least back then it was.
