COLTS NECK, NJ - Former President Donald Trump's Colts Neck golf club has agreed to pay the state of New Jersey a $400,000 fine for overserving a customer who was involved in a fatal drunken driving incident after leaving the club in 2015.
The Monmouth County location, dubbed Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck, will also restrict alcohol sales to designated parts of the club and prohibit through cart service until Dec. 31 (although as recently as 2019, the state moved to remove the golf club's liquor licenses entirely, including at other Trump golf clubs in Pine Hill and Bedminster).
Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck did not contest the charges and entered a plea of "non vult" charges, which waives the institution's right to appeals, per POLITICO. The golf club will pay the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control four installments of $100,000 annually until 2024.
NJ.com also reports that the club agreed to service training for employees by a "nationally recognized organization."

The rest of the story tells about the incident itself, in which a person was killed.

The story was also covered by the Washington Post, but most people run into a paywall, so that's why I posted the local story first. However, here is a snip and the link for the WP story:

Trump golf club to pay penalty after customers fatal car crash

Both charges were related to events on Aug. 30, 2015, when according to police reports Halder flipped his car on a highway on-ramp about four miles from the Trump course, causing a wreck that killed his father, Gary Halder. Andrew Halder, now 41, later pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and was sentenced to three years of probation.
The state had originally sought to revoke the Colts Neck clubs liquor license, a penalty that would have also revoked liquor licenses at Trumps two other New Jersey clubs. Golf industry experts said that would have removed a major source of the clubs revenue.
The settlement announced Wednesday allows Trumps clubs to keep their licenses.
Instead, the Colts Neck club will pay the $400,000 penalty, which is equivalent to 6.5 percent of its total revenue in 2020, according to Trumps presidential disclosure filings. It will also lose its right to sell alcohol from carts on the course until Dec. 31, settlement papers said.

Our system lets the rich buy their way out of punishment -- by pretending that the purchase price is the punishment.
that's why I boldfaced it. Notice the rest of the paragraph--would have severely impacted his income.
I say kick these assholes when they're down and NJ didn't do it. I am disappointed with my state. Severely.
