This measure is long overdue. Monopolies deserve to be renamed United Consumer Fuckers.

Competition, innovation, entrepreneurship is how the economy grows and sometimes becomes more efficient. You don't get that with large, self-feeding, entrenched monopolies and oligopolies.

Wish I had actual operational expertise in entrepreneurship instead of weak ankles.

…might entice me to move back to the states.

Especially since Britain here is now officially the stupidest county on earth.

But with that wonderful accent, they sound smarter.

Of course, I'm not sure that they are stupider than the U.S. We are getting better, but there still is a whole lot of "stupid" to spread around.

This is long overdue! It is about time that the riches of this country are spread out and begin to support those who actually create that wealth. I have been anti- corporation/ monopoly since the supreme court granted them "personhood".

Monopolies usually occur because one firm is larger and the scale allows them to produce at less cost than their competitors.

Monopoly is anti-competitive usurpation of innovation, pricing, and often political power.

BBWWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! (You know what? Okay. I will sit tight and see what happens. I am not holding my breath that a politician is going to go after large corporations with the intent of reducing their profits, but let's see. I retract the raucous laughter.)

Start revoking corporate charters

But if he is serious, I hope he zeroes in on timber milling capacity in the west. There is a glut of raw unmilled timber but mills have been monopolized. One company in California had bought most mills in the state and did a mass closing. Now they control the price and have jacked up lumber prices.
