Former Vice President Mike Pence reportedly "lost it" and "snarled" at former President Donald Trump in 2018 after getting a crumpled up newspaper article thrown at him.
A new piece in The Wall Street Journal adapted from reporter Michael Bender's book Frankly, We Did Win This Election describes the conflict that arose between Trump and Pence in early 2021 when the vice president was set to preside over the certification of the election results. The report describes how Pence "wasn't practiced in confronting" Trump, with the only example that administration officials could think of dating back to 2018.

(68,539 posts)and God knows what would have happened had he not done so. He still gets death threats...while I am not a Pence fan, he chose our Republic over kowtowing to Trump so I give credit where credit is due.

To me, Trump is truly the boss from hell. And he relishes chaos and having people fearing for their jobs, which makes them totally compliant to his whims and temper tantrums.
I don't see how people can willingly give up their dignity and self-respect to put up with a creep like him. Unless they had none of either to give up in the first place.

Maybe he wants to boost another more compliant conservative like Pence.
