A notorious gathering spot is now playing host to the terrifying Delta variant—and lots of unvaccinated people.

Angela Crawford is fully vaccinated, and yet more scared of the coronavirus than ever.

In fact, the 35-year-old accountant told The Daily Beast, she has been reverting to some basic best practices from a year of pandemic lockdown. Even if she’s skeptical it will make a difference.

“I’ve started wearing my masks again, but it’s gotten to the point here that no matter what, we are screwed,” Crawford, who lives in Springfield, Missouri, near the Lake of the Ozarks, told The Daily Beast.

Her fear stems from the prevalence in her area of the Delta variant—a mutation of the novel coronavirus deemed potentially more deadly and at least 50 percent more contagious that health officials say is surging in Missouri.

“I am fully anticipating burying one or both of my parents this year because they refuse to vaccinate,” the mother of two told The Daily Beast. “This is the sad reality I have to come to terms with.”

4. A tight fitting mask and some boozy hand sanitizer got me through last Fall/Winter.

I honestly believed I'd be done with them by now.

However, most of my closest associates and I are going back to them (even though we are all vaccinated). So, I don't share Ms Crawford's heart wrenching dilemma.

I really don't know what to say (if there's anything which can be said) to offer consolance to these people who are expecting the hammer to fall. Over nothing, but, pure stupidity and willful ignorance.

10. No surprise here. My sister who lives in SW MO (they are all vaccinated, thank god) said that

COVID outbreaks, patients being diagnosed w/ COVID are at all time highs (over 2000 in one day! per a news report I heard approximately two weeks ago)...

Who do I blame? Our worthless governor, Parsons for not being aggressive enough in combating the spread of this disease, and of course the tens of thousands of former trump nuts out there in rural Missouri. Can't tell them anything (never could, and they've always mocked the cities (KC and STL), as places of doom and gloom, etc.). Ironically enough, they'll be facing the doom and gloom very shortly themselves but unfortunately they're going to overwhelm the medical facilities of KC, Springfield, and STL because of their ignorant behavior/actions.

and a girl in the pool lunges at another person and blood spurts everywhere. It's pretty damn funny.
