CNN: Five undervaccinated clusters put the entire United States at risk
"These clusters of unvaccinated people are what is standing in the way of us putting this virus down permanently," said Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a CNN medical analyst and professor of medicine and surgery at George Washington University.
The five most significant clusters together include more than 15 million people. Of those, only 27.9% are fully vaccinated -- far lower than the national rate of 47.6%.

(22,114 posts)handle such a large influx of sick COVID patients, thus putting a strain on medical resources outside the region. Much of this area is also rural in nature, thus putting a severe strain on the infrastructure and labor needs of this area too when so many fall sick and quite a few unfortunately pass.
I have seen on DU some of the governors (1 at least) beseech the populations of their state to vaccinate, but I don't know if this will be effective or not. I doubt it since the mindset is so dead set (an ironic accidental choice of words I'll leave in place) against anything against what Pres. Joe Biden or anybody else of authority says that needs to be done.
Like one DUer said in the trend, die then, no great loss, since these people don't care about anybody else but themselves. It's like we got a million typhoid Mary's out there now...
