I get the feeling Covid is going to explode in certain regions the next 2 to 3 weeks

The last two days have had close to 25,000 new cases each day. We have a variant that is much, much more aggressive than this time last year, people are not staying home now, few people wearing masks, everything open and many areas with vaccination rates under 30%. You can bet it is spreading exponentially right now. If half the population wasn't already vaccinated it would be a total nightmare.

1. I will take a wild guess that it's going to explode all over US.

Delta is highly infectious and can break through vaccines. So I don't think it will just be parts of the US.

7. even the areas with 70% full vaccination still have 30% unvaccinated

If these 30% are in contact with each other - through church membership, common recreation activities, etc. - you will get a bad outbreak

Under 12 are not even eligible to be vaccinated.
Soon they will go back to school.

The question remaining is how effective the vaccines are against Delta. Most countries are reporting excellent immunity, but Israel reported concerning numbers.

The simplest thing is to keep masking and be cautious till we know what we are dealing with.

4. In both Israel and UK, delta is able to break through the vaccines.

Not sure what other countries are reporting excellent immunity to delta?

3. I said this as well a few days ago. Especially in states that have low vaccination rates.

People really went all out for the July 4th holiday and have kind of made up for lost time in the last month or so.

I think we are going to see the fallout from summer gatherings and activities in the time frame you mentioned and into the fall as people start going back to work and children start going back to school and day care.

It could be a really rough fall/winter. Hopefully it won't be another lockdown holiday season, but I'm already psychologically preparing for it as I don't have high hopes.

Look at the risk level (for those who are unvaccinated) here. A couple of weeks ago, the entire country was at "medium" risk. Since then, two states have moved to "low" risk (both of them blue states), while seventeen have moved back to "high" risk (thirteen of those red states).

Remember, as I said above, these levels are for the unvaccinated. If you've received the vaccine, your risk level is lower than is indicated for your state.

If Delta is as contagious as reported, it's going to be very bad in a few weeks. Especially in those low vaccination states. My husband's brother lives in Louisiana and he laughed and said, "We're not going to get that poison vaccine. Covid is a hoax!" Rates have really gone up the last week in Louisiana.

Seriously, in the 3rd World regions of our country, the unvaxxed are in for it. It's a simple thing, and now it's almost too late. If they get their first shot tomorrow, they won't reach full immunity for almost a month. By then, your premonitions will have come true.

But, of course, you are right. Except that, at least for the Moderna vaccine, the full immunity will take 6 weeks.
