She was asking why now?
Paxton will be speaking at CPAC right after dump on Sunday. Something for them to rail about.
Mr. Hervis has been out of prison for 17 yrs. Working 2 jobs.
I think this stupid rule should be abolished. Having said that, putting him in prison for 25 years with a $100, 000 bail is beyond ridiculous.

(9,942 posts)... I hope the ACLU helps Mr. Hervis Rogers. In the brief clip, he seemed like such a nice man. Texas wants to send a message to Democrats: DON'T VOTE. Deplorable.

(54,770 posts)couple of months. A reasonable fine, maybe. But no prison time.
We have a lot of insurrectionists that we dont want to vote either, while serving their sentence.

(52,113 posts)Abuse of government powers to massively punish certain people for voting.
No government should be able to take away a citizen's right to vote, only in specific cases transfer that right to another jurisdiction.
This is just yet another example of the political corruption inherent in this power.
Massive punishment for at worst a clerical error for something that ought not be an infraction in the first place.
Never mind that the people running the election should have been able to prevent the vote up front rather than allowing it and then later punishing him for voting.
I mean, did the government not have access to the same information somehow?
