President Joe Biden on Friday fired Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul, a holdover from the Trump administration, but Saul told the Washington Post he plans to be at work on Monday morning because his term isnt over.
Andrew Saul refused to resign as requested, and he was notified his employment as Commissioner was terminated immediately, said a White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

(58,785 posts)of the email he received from the White House Personnel Office on Friday morning. It was a bolt of lightning no one expected. And right now its left the agency in complete turmoil.
Whatta lie. His "first" was the end.
Since taking office, Commissioner Saul has undermined and politicized Social Security disability benefits, terminated the agencys telework policy that was utilized by up to 25 percent of the agencys workforce, not repaired SSAs relationships with relevant Federal employee unions including in the context of COVID-19 workplace safety planning, reduced due process protections for benefits appeals hearings, and taken other actions that run contrary to the mission of the agency and the Presidents policy agenda, a White House statement said.
The White House declined to comment on Sauls threat that he would not give up his post. But federal personnel experts said the administration could block him from accessing the agencys computer networks and cut off his paycheck. ...
For their part, unions and advocates for the elderly and disabled cheered Sauls and Blacks firings. Under Trump, Saul who attended the University of Pennsylvania with the former president had proposed what they called radical changes to make it harder for older and disabled workers to be found eligible for disability benefits and blocked access to assistance for non-English speakers. He also tried to increase the frequency of medical reviews to semiannually for disabled people receiving benefits, a proposal Biden blocked.
Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-N.J.), who chairs the House Ways and Means subcommittee on oversight, said in a statement that Saul and Black had acted as foxes in the henhouse with an agenda to impose cruelty on seniors and the disabled.

(63,221 posts)He should not just be fired, he should be stoned to death by a huge group of angry seniors and disabled people. He is getting off easy if you ask me.
What arrogance to refuse to leave! I can't imagine that there is anyone left who is going to take orders from him or put up with his bullshit. I hope he gets dragged out of his office kicking and screaming, after being tarred and feathered and then hoisted upon a flagpole for the public to have their way with him.
Ok, sorry. I kind of got carried away with my little revenge fantasy, but I really hate this evil bastard. How dare he! What makes people so cruel toward those who have done nothing wrong except exist.

(58,785 posts)couldn't have been foisted on the people of our nation without help from lying power seekers who stab from the left. I'd ship the lot of them off with the trumpists to another planet. Not sure how punishing that'd be, though, but good riddance anyway.
