1. I believe they misunderstand when they are called paranoid.

When those on the gun safety side call those on the gun nut side paranoid, I don’t think they mean “you’re paranoid for thinking we want you to give up your AR-15”. I think it means “you’re paranoid for having a problem with us wanting you to give up your AR-15 and for thinking keeping that weapon puts you in a better bargaining position with the government.”

Just because it hasn't been successful doesn't change the fact that gun confiscation has been a common call from our side for decades, and is a regular theme here on DU.

I have a dozen guns, of various sizes and calibers. At least one would be a target of confiscation legislation proposed various Democrats over the years, for no reason other than it looks scary.

I have never heard anyone argue that being able to fire multiple weapons is a reason for owning multiple weapons. In fact, if you want to use such an argument to limit ownership, then that would support the idea that an AR-15 is the most practical.

Gun stores sell human shaped targets because that is how you practice for defensive use.

the thought of police breaking down their doors and taking guns by force is unrealistic (though not impossible). When people say "taking our guns" it usually consists of fears out of gun control laws packed on by more gun control laws which over time widdles down guns or being able to own or acquire guns via bans, regulations, taxes and enhance costs to ownership which cuts down on peoples will to try and acquire them (atleast legally) assuming the guns they want or used ot be able to own arnt already banned.
