DALLAS (AP) An unopened copy of Nintendos The Legend of Zelda that was made in 1987 has sold at auction for $870,000.
Heritage Auctions in Dallas said the video game sold Friday.
The auction house said it was a rare version that was created during a limited production run that took place during a few months in late 1987. The Legend of Zelda is a popular fantasy adventure game that was first released in 1986.

(13,126 posts)I don't have the original from the first Nintendo.
But I've two used copies for the super Nintendo.
One for the 64, DS, and switch.
The Super Nintendo was always my favorite

Great stuff!
Seriously you should do a search. I've tried to buy used ones, to no avail.

(35,166 posts)not sure about the 4th, with my two little to high school aged sons. LOVED them. I have a Wii, no idea what ever came after that but I have a really wonderful Zelda game for it that I cannot play. Amazing that these things are worth so much. I think we have all of them still and several iterations of Nintendo but all well used.

I know that this was all of their favorite game for the longest time. I bet none of them have an unopened one, though. Every game we ever bought for our kids was played to death....LOL.
I am hoping someone on DU actually has an unopened one!
