(4,420 posts)to keep Black people worried about whether they should try to vote.
Crystal Mason was charged after the 2016 election for the same thing, and her provisional ballot was never counted at all. It is not a coincidence that she is also Black.
Jim Crow is alive and well, folks.

(5,122 posts)who INTENTIONALLY voted for dead relatives?
You give the people who made honest mistakes harsher sentences than the people who purposefully committed fraud? Insanity.
We need to get rid of this stupid rule. Why do people have to lose their right to vote as punishment? You already sentence them to prison, sometimes there are fines and fees that go along with the prison sentence. What does voting have to do with anything?
The man works and pays taxes, works 2 jobs. Why should his right to vote be taken away? He should have a say on how his tax dollars are spent. What happens in his community. NONE of that has anything to do with paying for a crime.
But as my conspiracy nut friend says, its not by mistake, its by design.
