Republicans Are Wiping Themselves Out
99% of Delta Variant Cases Are In The Non-Vaccinated
https://www.politicususa.com/2021/07/11/republicans-delta-variant.html
"SNIP......
CBS News reported, The Delta variant now accounts for more than half of the new coronavirus cases in the United States 52%. Almost all of the new cases 99.7% are among people who have not been vaccinated
The effort comes as cases are rising in 26 states. Hospitalization rates are up in 17 states 27% in Florida, almost exclusively among the unvaccinated.
.....
States like Florida, Mississippi, Utah, and Kentucky are already being hit hard. All of those states voted for Donald Trump.
The Vaccination Rate In Counties That Trump Won Is 35%
The Kaiser Family Foundation found that the vaccination gap between counties that Biden won and counties that Trump won is growing, While the share of the total population that is fully vaccinated has increased for both county groups, it has increased faster in counties that voted for Biden, resulting in a widening gap. Three months ago, as of April 22, the average vaccination rate in counties that voted for Trump was 20.6% compared to 22.8% in Biden counties, yielding a relatively small gap of 2.2 percentage points. By May 11, the gap had increased to 6.5% and by July 6, 11.7%, with the average vaccination rate in Trump counties at 35% compared to 46.7% in Biden counties.
Republicans Are Stopping Biden By Not Getting Vaccinated. They Are Wiping Themselves Out
The Republican refusal to get vaccinated is not going to politically stop President Biden or put Donald Trump back into office. If anything, an ongoing pandemic crisis will give Biden even more motivation to push for the implementation of his agenda.

(17,802 posts)It hits harder and lasts longer than the previous strains. Simply put, more people, younger people, will die. Others will become long haulers. Many will be hospitalized.
At least a percentage of those who get hospitalized will regret listening to q/gop talking points, and a percentage of those will not vote for the idiots who spout anti vax messaging.
Will it wipe out the gop? Nope. Not even hurt it badly among their base.
Will it swing an election? Didn't it in 2020?

(28,670 posts)It's more infectious and less deadly (potentially much less deadly) when you account for the vaccinated or previously infected population. Which isn't uncommon when viruses mutate.
getagrip_already
(17,802 posts)The death rate is higher for the unvaccinated, which is who we are talking about.
FBaggins
(28,670 posts)And the number of deaths is a tiny fraction of what it was compared to similar levels of infection.
The UK is the clearest example. Over the last two months their infection rate has climbed from fewer than 2,000/day to as many as 35,000 per day. Yet their death rate has climbed only from an average of 6/day to a couple of dozen.
Compare that to the two-month period from mid-Sept to mid-November. Very similar infection numbers... but almost twenty times the number of deaths per day.

(30,613 posts)I am happy that MAGATs are volunteering to die and give us that margin. Especially now that the more-deadly Delta and Lambda variants are going to nail even more of them.

(15,388 posts)The voting "laws" being passed by Republicans in far too many states could conceivably destroy us all. And I don't think enough non-vaccinated Republican lawmakers are getting "wiped out" to change that.
That aside, I really don't want to see these imbeciles die. I'd just like to see them grow a conscience.

(4,170 posts)The vax rate for POC in my county is really low. I have white neighbors and black neighbors. Not one of the black neighbors has been vaxxed, all of the whites (that Ive spoken to) have been.
What really bothers me is the closest black neighbor is a nurse. I dont get it. At all.

(3,209 posts)That the anti-vaccine stuff spread online is all a liberal conspiracy to get them to decline the vaccine and die off. That way we take over the world

Ask him. He'll tell you all about it.
It's no joke. Something did it and he's scared because he's on some steroid drops that he has to get off soon. He's not so much of a Trumper really, but a hard core conspiracy theory guy. He only got vaccinated because his daughter made him. Otherwise, his grandkid privilege's would be revoked.
If someone could psych himself into some kind of autoimmune response, it's him. If we want more followers of TFG to keel over from COVID, he's on the case!
