(8,387 posts)If it is indeed true that he was reaching out to Putin for an interview, then it should come as no surprise that the NSA was doing its job by monitoring the communications of persons in Putin's circle.
If, however, the Russians then decided to have some fun with Carlson by providing his emails through another channel back to him with the claim that it "came from the NSA", then it is remarkable that he is too stupid to understand he's being played with.

(8,387 posts)It doesn't matter. If you are corresponding with Russian officials of any sort, you can assume that those communications are subject to surveillance. Period.
The United States monitors international communications generally and, in particular, communications from or on behalf of foreign government actors.
This whole thing is absolute silliness.

For example, if he emailed a Russian in the US who then forwarded it to a contact in Russia. It would be perfectly normal for NSA to intercept that.

I think the rest of the media should be reminding people of this much more often whenever discussing anything Carlson claims.

(1,666 posts)...how rich and pampered he is? Everything he tells them to do or suggests they do, isnt anything he is doing or will do himself.
Oh wait, I forgot about their love of Trump. Except Tucker is actually rich.
He doesnt do this because he needs the money.
