Euro Cup because England was ahead at the end of the first half and the other goal plus penalties should not have been counted.
Word is that they are using the new Slobfather rules of life.
That is all.

(54,270 posts)Although, EU stupidity handed the Brexiteers their narrow victory on a silver platter. If the EU bureaucrats had spent more time thinking how to improve life in the EU, and less time trying to spend EU tax money on themselves and their huge generous pensions and benefits, the Brexit ads screaming about nothing else wouldn't have found a leg to stand on.

In a separate matter there is rumors that Gareth Southgate called Björn Kuipers to see if he could find him two or three additional penalties. It is said Southgate told the ref "there's nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you've recalculated."

(8,670 posts)Lots of great giggles from yall. I actually enjoyed COPA America much more. Two of the greatest players head to head, won by their supporting casts often over shadowed by Messi and Neymar.
With Olympics near, I dread hearing the Chants of USA. USA. USA. Way too similar to insurrection images with those chants and red, white blue everywhere. I suggest we end USA chants until we end GQP occupation. Nothing United here. We are totally separated states. Americas Separated States. Therefore the chant should be ASS. ASS. ASS. How we are now seen by all other Olympic competing countries. No one respects our way of choosing winners and losers

(268,674 posts)Too much Covid in Japan - there should be no Olympics this year

(32,566 posts)Any athletes who have already qualified could automatically be in for next year.
As it is, all these athletes are in danger going to Tokyo this year.

(8,670 posts)Without spectators? I am guessing yall were excited about a stadium packed with unmasked rabid fans at the Home Run derby for MLB in Colorado last night. I think Georgia lucked out loosing hosting that. As you do, I am very concerned for those athletes in the Olympics. I would bet most are vaccinated and every Covid precaution will be used. Unlike any such thing in Colorado. We have NO standing in telling another country how to handle Covid crowds. The athletes trained an entire lifetime for this event. Already delayed a year. Another year and injuries would be devastating to some. Steve Prefontaine had his chance delayed by terrorist, and died in car crash before another chance. The athletes should be free to chose. Pro Choice. But, I fully understand your position. Its a very bad situation. Sad it IS in Japan with its Covid response. I really feel for the athletes. Wish there were a safe solution.

(32,566 posts)All spectators have been banned from the events.
I believe the TV coverage will be good however.

(8,670 posts)I am good with that. Unlike USA. USA. USA., the Home run derby and college softball, baseball Championships were packed full, and no one masked. I look forward to seeing great competition with thrills of victory and sorrows of defeat by greatest athletes on earth for hours daily for a month. I loved both soccer tournaments, no commercials, Olympic trials, and as I have since Greg LeMond rode, never missed a day of Tour de France. Those are hours of escape from the shit show that is our government and Breaking News media. Much needed emotion break from it all. I welcome Olympic coverage. Just me.
