Bernice King led the criticism of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy after the California Republican cited her father Martin Luther King Jr. to attack the teaching of critical race theory.
McCarthy on Monday joined conservatives misrepresenting critical race theory, claiming it goes against everything Martin Luther King has ever told us. He also accused the Left of trying to take America backward.
Bernice King, the civil rights leaders youngest daughter, encouraged McCarthy to study my fathers teachings & words well beyond the last lines of I Have A Dream.

(96,644 posts)That one line of that one speech is all a lot of people know about the writings of MLK, Jr..
That's it.
And I'll wager not because they've read the entire speech either but because of the entire footage of that speech, that is the most played and most quoted few seconds - "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
McCarthy didn't learn anything from King. As evidenced by the very words coming out of McCarthy's mouth.
