we try to channel our subjects' essence, allowing them to say what they would like to say if they thought they could get away with it, or have them say something to show their ignorance, cupidity, hypocrisy, blind loathing, etc.

This CAPTION is close to what he actually said, but tweaked for the satiric effect.
