Whitmer kidnap suspects don't want jury to hear comments in video

(Detroit Free Press) A man accused of plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said he wanted to kill cops — "as many of those mother f------ as I can" — prosecutors allege, though the defendant doesn't want jurors to hear any of that.



Neither do his alleged cohorts, who are fighting to keep the jury from hearing those comments, which are part of a video that prosecutors want to show jurors when the case goes to trial in October.

According to the government, the video captures defendant Brandon Caserta expressing frustration with law enforcement and government, and allegedly instructing his “coconspirators" that if they encounter police during a reconnaissance, "they should give the officers one opportunity to leave, and kill them if they did not comply.”

The defense argues that the conversation had nothing to do with the alleged plot to kidnap the governor, but was merely tough talk by an angry citizen venting his frustration over traffic tickets.

They come in graduated sizes. People start with a small size that doesn't look much different from a normal earring. Over time, they can be swapped out for larger and larger sizes, until the earlobes stretch to a very exaggerated size.

The problem comes if the person stops wearing them after their earlobes are all stretched out like that guy's. The only way for him to ever have normal looking ears again is plastic surgery. Insurance won't pay for undoing a body modification that you voluntarily did to yourself, so good luck with that, pal!

I hate those things myself. The really big ones massively gross me out. I recognize that people have the right to look however they want and modify their bodies if they want to, but that is one body modification I would really rather not have to look at. I also think it's an unwise choice, because you could end up looking like that dude. To each their own I guess!
