As Covid cases rise in Florida, Governor DeSantis digs at Fauci with merchandise

Republican governor is hoping to ride Trump’s coattails to the White House and generate cash to fund 2022 re-election campaign

For $12, you can buy a red beverage cooler imprinted with the words: “How the hell am I going to be able to drink a beer with a mask on?”

Those with deeper pockets can be the proud owner of a $21 T-shirt stamped with the map of Florida and the logo “Love My Gov” and “Keep Florida Free”.

But perhaps the merchandise with the best sales potential are the drink koozies and T-shirts that say “Don’t Fauci My Florida”.

The slogan , first reported by the Washington Post, is the brainchild of the team around Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida who is hoping he can ride Donald Trump’s coattails all the way to the White House in 2024.

The phrase is a dig at Anthony Fauci, the chief White House medical adviser who because of his cautionary approach to the deadly coronavirus and mask-wearing has become a popular punch-bag for Republicans. There is no road that leads to conservative supremacy, it seems, that doesn’t run over America’s top infectious diseases expert.

they say comes in second place behind trump to run in 2024? He is as much of an ass as trump, just younger and "maybe" a little smarter, but I wouldn't count on it!

The whole GOP party these days seems like a bad joke. They have nothing to offer but the "worst" possible candidates, and the only way they can win is to cheat, and try and keep Democrats from voting by any means they can. It's pure insanity!

So many of the "worst" people want to win the rights of the "biggest trump ass kisser! They all have to sink to trumps level of humanity, which is really, really low, and hope they can find a way to gain his approval over the others.

What they don't understand is trump could care less about any of them, and many of them will find out the hard way that he is simply playing games with them, and instead of raising them up, he will take them down!

Right now trump is on his "revenge" tour and all he cares about is getting rid of those he sees as "not backing him" in his lies. He is out to "destroy" the Republican Party, no matter what, and he will turn on them in a heart beat. It is going to be interesting to watch him pick them off one by one!

Most of my pins at that point were from needlework seminars where they'd give out pins to all the participants. I have some other odd ones, such as the one from the Albuquerque Balloon Festival of 1990 where my husband's aunt (formerly married to the mayor of Albuquerque) showed us around and introduced us to Senator Pete Domenici. His aunt had a vest with pins from all the balloon festivals she'd been to. After she died, the vest was put into the balloon festival museum and they asked my husband for a copy of the photo he'd taken of her - that was the only picture anyone knew of her in her vest!

While in the UK I collected a dozen or more RSPB bird pins. I'd moved all my pins to a case I used to carry paperwork about our needlework chapter - but with the bird pins added, that's getting too heavy. Maybe I will make a vest or a sash to put them on!
