to English language learners, most of them being native Spanish speakers. There are many amusing stories about silent letters and mispronunciations, misuse of cognates between Spanish and English, and surprised reactions to American customs. I learned that it was important to let students know that mistakes were inevitable (I made my own when learning Spanish), and to have a sense of humor about it.
