(31,261 posts)The simple fact is there are a contingent of republicans that realize that their party is lost, but they cant embrace fully our democratic agenda. So they help centrist democrats in the hopes that the number of centrists in political office increase, thereby giving them some buffer against representatives like AOC and others.
Get used to seeing this more, it is the new normal. I am sure that other democrats will be getting donations from republicans who are scared shitless of the nazi drift of their party.

The host committee includes titans of the Texas oil and gas industry many of whom donate almost exclusively to Republicans, according to the Tribune, as well as one Democrat, former Houston Mayor Bill White.
