1. Daily new cases in the US are up almost 70% from last week.

2. Japan new cases are the most in 6 months.

1. It's the "new and improved" delta covid.

Taking over.
Much more infectious than original covid. People become infectious sooner and start spreading before they show any symptoms.
It was really stupid to remove the mask mandates, just when delta started to spread.

4. My county is less than 45% fully vaccinated and almost NO ONE wears a mask.

On my trips to buy groceries lately I see one or two other customers wearing masks. Entire families are shopping together once again and the kids (obviously under 12) are unmasked as well.

Our case numbers are just starting to creep up, but I think they will soon be through the roof.

5. Same here.

My county is only 50% vaccinated but nearly 100% go maskless now (nearly 100 % were masked before CDC declared vaccinated people didn't need masks).
Our covid numbers are going up as well-big surprise (not).
I expect the numbers to get a lot higher quickly.

3. I'm ordering more high quality masks today. Not changing

my habits much. I never stopped wearing my mask inside public places. I have removed my masks for short periods (to get some fresh air) outside at Lowes when it was not busy. Not doing that anymore. Mask on unless there is absolutely no one around.

6. Get them while they are cheap.

And abundant.
I stocked up too. I am not going out in public without a mask (unless it's outside and not many people are out and about).

7. Still masking.

I trust the vaccine to help a lot, but not enough to go maskless indoors in public or in big groups.

Here in PA, cases are up to the 400s per day after being in the 200s. Montgomery County had 5/6 cases per day and now around 11.
