Electric Company employee came to switch out my meter.

She is all upset because "they" are going to be coming door to door. I guess to force people to get vaccinated.

This is Missouri for God's sake. Our governor doesn't think we even have a problem.

going to another door when she finishes with your house?

The stupidity is incomprehensible.

Also, if she's unvaccinated, I wouldn't have let her in.

She just needed in the back yard.

I only talked to her for a minute and I only mentioned that people aren't even answering their doors now especially since Covid.

I told her I was pro vaccinations. She replied that they were going to be coming door to door.

People here in KCMO are really paranoid and scared. Thank you Fox News and Tucker et al.

4. It's not just there, either. They have a huge reason to be paranoid and scared, but it isn't

the one she thinks it is.

The TOTALLY unnecessary suffering that is coming to these people is one of the saddest things our nation will ever experience.

believe. Their sources, Including their pastors, have them afraid of their own shadows.

And they honestly believe that evil liberals are trying to destroy their country, their churches, everything that they hold dear, everything that they have been taught to believe in.

Really it's unbelievable. And being mean to them and calling them morons and stupid isn't helping their paranoia. It feeds it.

I really just try to see them as people and treat them the way I think all people should be treated. Non threatening kindness cuts through their fear.

(If that sounded sarcastic, it really isn't.)

Honestly, I do feel so sorry for them. This is new for me. I was only angry at them before because of the mess they make EVERYTHING for EVERYONE and for no apparent reason.

But I realize that, like all of us, they are the product of the places they live and the people they live with. I hope, in their position, I'd be able to see through the lies, but who knows if I would? I'm not in their position.

And I don't wish what is coming to them on anyone.

are scared to death.

These preachers around here are masters of getting people all fired up. If you listen to them it's scary.

A friend of mine told me that she was willing to believe anything as long as she could get into heaven.

I had another friend that was Assembly of God and she honestly believed in devils. She had horrible nightmares.

These people aren't deep thinkers although there is an element that think they are super intellectuals and they love to pontificate on the brilliance of their religion. Those people are hard to stomach.

A lot of these people just barely made it through high-school. They are not educated. When they speak they talk a blue collar dialect. It's aint and I done or he done or I done gone. It's easy to spot. I seen that.

The power company came and installed it, I wasn't even given a choice in the matter. It's so they can electronically monitor your usage from the home office. That way nobody has to come to your house and read the meter for your monthly invoices.

Remember the old days when the "meter man" had to come into people's houses, go down in their basements and read the meters? Those days are over.

I still have a water meter in my basement. The water meter guy only comes once every other year. I don't think he came to my house at all last year. The water company is just estimating our bills based on previous usage.
