This speaks to the selfishness of adults who refuse Covid vaccine.

Really having a hard time accepting that kids sacrificed 16+ months of their childhood, 2 school years of normalcy, mostly to protect adults from a virus that they’re now choosing NOT to get vaccinated against, making kids who can’t vax more vulnerable & holding everyone hostage

Their refusal to cease the irresponsible spread of false information that is being disseminated with their claim to be protecting free speech is a nothing more than a guise. There real concern is protection of profits regardless of the the consequences. It is analogous to calm of protecting free speech in yelling a false warning of fire and causing the deaths of hundred including innocent children in a stampede. A flagrant example is taking place on Facebook in the case of the deadly COVID-19 virus. These companies that are willing to protect their profits are guilty in the cause of thousands of deaths. The threat that variants could develop as a result of this irresponsible behavior that can not be controlled and eliminated, such as smallpox, polio and measles, could result in massive deaths with few if any survivors.

This not some unsubstantiated threat. Noted experts are warning of the threat that mutations of the COVID-19 could produce a deadly mutation that could even defy detection techniques. The COVID virus once it has infected a person is reproducing constantly with over 30 new mutations per round of reproduction. The threat that it could produce a fatal mutation is not a idle threat. When this threat is couple with the insane actions of a person in a powerful position such as the case of Trump and the massive dissemination of absolutely false deadly information the future of human life on the planet as it now enjoyed is in serious jeopardy.

We must demand that the mass media companies, such as Facebook, be forced to stop their irresponsible greed that is responsible of thousands of deaths and that irresponsible politicians be held accountable for this tragedy that could have been mitigated.

I've read "the virtue of selfishness" and I'd recommend it to anybody who suffers from co-dependency - and especially those raised around narcissists.

I was raised to be a weak personality - so I felt like I was obligated to agree with others and grant their wishes - otherwise I would offend them, and be judged a terrible person. Her book helped me establish emotional boundaries, and gave me a rationale so I didn't "feel obligated" to endure emotional manipulation or abuse.

I'm not an Ayn Rand cultist, and think her views on government are unrealistic, and would be cruel if they became law - but I suspect this rugged individualism was a reaction to unresolved trauma from her time in the Soviet Union.

Trump wouldn't read Ayn Rand, even one with such a provocative title, because his narcissism comes naturally. And if he did, he would learn that she advocates for "rational selfishness" which means do not take what doesn't belong to you....and do not engage in force or fraud....plus she was an avowed atheist....both of which would offend 99.9999% of Republicans.

Rand’s “philosophy" was terribly cold, but it was rational and nuanced. And her definition of selfishness was definitely much different, much more logical and rational, than the version put into practice daily by Loser-45 and his, sadly, many millions of worshippers.

Alas, for Rand, her notion of selfishness led her to believe that altruism did not, in fact, exist. She confused the satisfaction one gets from helping someone else to be no more than selfish pleasure, and lost the argument (whether altruism exists) in a semantic fog.

That’s one reason their “right to life” stance is a joke. It’s always and only all about them; one more indicator of America’s massive mental health crisis.

The only thing that will raise the number of vaccinations are mandates. Not federal govt mandates, but employer mandates, school mandates, sports stadiums, etc.

But that cannot happen until the FDA gives full approval to the vaccines. Once they do, we can move forward with the mandates and end this thing.

That's exactly what it's going to take to get more people vaccinated. It's a sad commentary on our society that they have to be made to comply with something for the good of all people.

They're beyond selfish. They're immature.

In intensive care just about ready to take his last breath of life. If this person thinks about all the people He oe She has given this deadly virus to ( children grand kids great grand kids etc.) I am using this post as a personal tragedy that has happened to my family. One in particular who has convinced his daughter of all these conspiracy lies from yours truly trump(Gobbles,Hitler) the great liar plus fox opinionated garbage(also the great lie),the real fake news. Does it take the loss of a family to convince these fucking idiots of the truth. The answer is no. Propaganda via( Gobbles Hitler and the rest) is very powerful as history tells us, I hope it isn't to late. Sorry about my sentence structure.
