2. Obamacare is a good example of this

It was originally a Republican idea. As soon as Obama acted on it, they became averse to it.

6. It's true.

My aunt called them “the again-ers”.

They’re against everything proposed. Against progress, against reform, against safety concerns…no matter.

They show up at neighborhood meetings, district meetings, city meetings, county, state, and federal hearings. They live to oppose.

A few years ago, a car dealer near my house tried to get the city to sell him a one block section of city street to use to park his inventory. The street emptied onto a very busy street that his business was facing, and it was a pretty dangerous turn out, without a traffic light. He owned all the property on both sides of the street section, and his business was a whole block. There was plenty of other access roads into the neighborhood behind the dealership. I thought it was a great idea.

The city held a hearing, and you can guess what happened. 8 or 10 “again-ers” showed up, and droned on forever about how that street was a vital element of their access to the neighborhood. The city turned down the proposal. Thriving dealership relocated. There’s an accident at that turnout at least once a week.

7. Being against the liberal agenda is the repub agenda.

2020 is the only time I can remember that a political party (R) had no platform going into an
election. A platform was not possible because they were for whatever Donnie wanted and they
weren't sure what that might be from day to day.

9. Since they have no ideas of their own, this is what passes for their "policy."

It's easy to pronounce, even Gohmert can remember it, and "whatever trump wants" (as a party platform) isn't aging well.

10. Unfortunately they are conflating where the "bad messaging" originates from

The messaging about vaccinations and lockdowns and masks comes from doctors and scientists. Trump gives partisans way too much credit, these are serious, smart people who are motivated by nonpartisan interests.

This messaging gets picked up and transmitted (not emitted) by liberals. Sometimes they may embellish a bit, but largely keep the messages intact.

Less serious conservatives can't distinguish between the two groups, so they just growl and bark at them collectively like they are postal workers.

If we could somehow get them to believe that only liberals are allowed to get vaccinated, they’d beat the doors down demanding their shot.
