I didn't think she had it in her to be fair and equitable. But she did.
I was pleasantly surprised.

(31,464 posts)I think she did a good job, but one night doesn't change my opinion of her. My guess is that she knows she's considered a Republican shill, and was just trying not to make it obvious. She was compensating, trying not to be called out as biased. Even her telling Romney that he was wrong about Benghazi was weak, and she actually gave Mitt more with her "yes, it did take 14 days" follow up comment.

(7,960 posts)You don't beat up on the moderator and expect her to take it. Candy Crowley saw what happened to Jim Lehrer had no intention of being Romney's punching bag.

(5,179 posts)Stomp all over a moderator who might be sympathetic toward you? Genius.

(19,841 posts)Rombot had a sympathetic moderator, but NOT with all that early attempt to grandstand and bulldoze her.
He couldn't hide it--his basic contempt for uppity women.
Candy did what she had to do.

(7,759 posts)Candy will be playing hard to keep her job and will basically recant everything she said about Libya and will not defend her statements in any way. Just wait
