Is it a cyberattack, or just rotten service?

I live in Bryan College Station area of Texas. Suddenlink has a monopoly on internet service around here. I'm 5 days without service now and no end in sight. In all my years of using the internet, we've never been out of service so long. I hate to sound paranoid, but I'm feeling vulnerable about cyber stuff these days. Suddenlink can't (or won't) tell us the extent of the outage or when we can expect it to come back on. I'm feeling frustrated and nervous. Anyone else having issues?

1. And what with Bryant being the center for hot-bed leftism, rum and progressive rebellion ...

... just like Marble Falls.

2. Have you been getting a bunch of rain?

Hopefully your problem will be fixed soon. 5 days is awfully long.

4. If your internet is down how are you managing to post this? If my internet goes down I'm

helpless with no smart phone or backup.

10. Thanks. I may use that as an option if we ever get another 12-hour or 24-hour outage!

6. Out Of Business

I'm going to go with: Suddenlink is Out Of Business. I have never had an outage that lasted more than a few hours, and that was due to local electrical outage problems, not an Internet provider problem.

Suddenlink (by way of DownDetector) = No Current Problems

Suddenlink (by way of suddenlink) = We're Prepared For Severe Weather

8. You might try Starlink if it is available in Texas (SpaceX Company).

We tried a bunch of different internet methods (even including using a cell phone hot spot) and they were all terrible. Finally, we were able to sign up for the beta service through Starlink (now available to most people). It has been very good and averages around 100 Mbps (supposed to get better in the future).
