RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) A third event venue in California has canceled a Saturday night rally by Republican House Reps. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Instead, Gaetz said on Twitter that they would be holding a protest outside City Hall in Riverside, where one of the events was canceled. An Anaheim spokesman had announced the latest cancellation hours before the rally was scheduled to begin.
Spokesman Mike Lyster said city officials shared our public safety concerns with the operator and the operator shares the concerns, the Press-Enterprise reported.
"We respect free speech and we are capable of holding events, Lyster said. But it was the lack of advance notice for an event that would attract the attention at the level this one would that has raised issues for our city.

(9,696 posts)Cancelling on these people so close to the time just increases their victimhood and paranoia - both of which are already on overdrive.

(22,022 posts)These useless congresspeople are a waste! They're supposed to represent their constituents, (I know, how quaint!), yet they don't do any meaningful work! Greene isn't even on any committees so she has practically no influence in legislation at all.
What of pair of losers.
When Gaetz is charged, I can't wait to hear MTG's explain her "friendship" with him.

(6,679 posts)An event booked by a group or promoter and it was short notice when they revealed "the card". The venue used their "out" in the contract. Pure speculation on my part based on how it normally works.
It's not likely either of their names appear on the contract ....

(5,857 posts)and lose / have to pay these assholes money. The cities PR guy couldn't keep his mouth shut and had to finish his comment with : Lyster also said city officials had "concerns about the nature of the event and that it does not reflect the city of Anaheim and the values we share.
That's blatant viewpoint discrimination and is likely to get the city sued. If he had stuck to the public safety issue it wouldn't have opened up Pandora's box.
