A little over 3 years ago, she moved in and went full time 24/7. Has save my life several times. I'm very lucky.

I think mom would have lived a lot longer if she'd have been able to have a private duty nurse. Mom was very reserved, very quiet & refined, yet also very friendly. She started falling a lot and getting more forgetful and was living by herself so we interviewed some caregivers for a 10 hour a day shift, but they were just too strong of a personality for mom, too loud or pushy and then she broke her hip and needed someone 24/7 and it just was way too expensive. We found a nice assisted living place and mom made some good friends and it was good for her medical care - but on dark days I think - what if?
