What we may have is a masochist shortage, did the "job creators" ever consider that?

Hey you, apply to our minimum wage and few-to-zero benefit borderline dead-end job!

Also featuring:

Long commutes and rush hour traffic! And that's right, paying for said commute will come out of YOUR meager paycheck!

Grief from the Karens and from people who think "the customer is always right" is an excuse to act like entitled royalty. Get your decisions, intelligence, experience, and perceptions questioned and attacked on a regular basis by people who think they are better than you! Receive blame for things that you have no control over!

Honesty and hard work will get you promoted, right? WRONG! Instead, use superficial charm to get ahead!

And bonus! If you want to be a "tipped" employee, get ready for a whole extra level of hurt. Double the emotional labor for a quarter of the pay! And if someone decides to dine-and-dash, guess who pays for it?

If they put this up instead of "nobody wants to work anymore" signs, and people actually applied, then they are the true keepers for today's so-called "unskilled" labor market.

Where there are enough people in the area to support such places. Not a job to build a career on, that is for sure. Like working at a Gas station in the old days.

Lots of applications. Between 100-250 per single job. I was watching the hotels because I have experience. They were sitting at 12.75-13.25, consistently. About a month ago, I started to see more and more hitting 14 an hour. Saturday I saw Marriott go to 15 an our for front desk. First one. Another nice hotel had an advertisement for a while and they were at 14 an hour. Saturday they raised the pay to 15 an hour also. So I put out apps on both though I have another couple months of trying for 16 and beyond at a more comfortable position in clerical. But I am getting kinda scared 65 apps and though I get lots of response, no hires. I am old. Hitting 60 soon.

Sunday I got a call from one of the hotels for an interview Tuesday. Today I got an email from the second hotel for an interview.

Customer service is rough with a lot of mean people, man they slay us. But at least they are having to increase the wage. I thought it real interesting watching the one hotel sit at 14 for a couple weeks then increase a dollar.

It is not the livable wage jobs not getting apps, for sure.
