Here's Susan Katz, who asked a question that was directed only to Romney: "how are you different than George Bush?" (President Obama knocked it out of the park, by the way.)

After the debate, Ms. Katz went up to Mitt and shook his hand. We certainly can't tell from the video what she said to him... but then she kissed Ann on the cheek.

I just found that odd. Did anyone else? Presumably, she doesn't know the Romneys... and she was supposedly not a supporter going into the debate.
Is it just me?

(57,936 posts)How in the world do you decide whether someone is undecided?
It's self-identification and it wouldn't take much to fool those who pick the audience.
There just aren't that many really undecided voters at this point. And most who are that undecided are just disgusted with politics or completely ignorant about what is going on. I'm talking to undecided, disinterested voters right now. They do not know and do not want to know what is going on.
The truly undecided voters would not show up in suits and ties and nice dresses and heels for a debate event at a university in New York. The truly undecideds show up in supermarket parking lots with a couple of kids and bags of groceries in the shopping cart.

(3,976 posts)and I have no issue with her question.
I just find it odd that a supposedly undecided voter would extend such a warm gesture toward a candidate's spouse.

Ms. Katz says this morning that she is supporting the President. Maybe she's some sort of super-duper double triple plant.... or something?

(3,976 posts)I wouldn't go out of my way to meet the Romneys.
If I had been in that audience, I'd head for the Obamas after the debate, as most people here would.
If I were in a position where I had to meet the Romneys, I would be polite and shake their hands.
Who is the jerk in your scenario?

(25,415 posts)As are many of their friends. We have friendly, spirited debates in my family but we don't let it get to the point of personal hatred. I dislike the Romneys immensely and may even come close to hate but if they were right in front of me I would be the bigger person and be friendly. I think that is what Susan Katz did.

Imagine if she had asked Obama, "How are you like Jimmy Carter? How are you different?"
