(25,816 posts)Why put anybody on her select committee that, by not voting to certify the election, or in
essence, agree with the rioters? F 'em.

"I do not like this one so well
All he does is yell, yell, Yell!
I do not care to have him about
So when he comes in, I put him out."

(7,510 posts)Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), a GOP rising star and the leader of the powerful Republican Study Committee, a caucus of conservatives that includes the majority of House Republicans, has been tapped as the ranking member.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the bombastic top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee and a fierce Trump ally who has nonetheless broken with some of his colleagues in the Freedom Caucus when it comes to downplaying the Jan. 6 attack.
Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), the chair of the House Administration Committee and a relative moderate in his caucus who was one of 35 House Republicans to vote to create a bipartisan commission to probe the attack, which was blocked by Senate Republicans.
Rep. Kelly Armstrong (R-N.D.), one of seven House Republicans who signed a letter criticizing objections to President Joe Bidens electoral college victory, which a majority of House Republicans voted for even after the Jan. 6 attack.
Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), the only freshman on the list and a former county sheriff who, like Banks and Jordan, voted for objections to Bidens victory.
Reached for comment, Pelosi spokesperson Drew Hammill told Forbes he just received the names, adding, Stay tuned.
Forbes has reached out to McCarthys office for comment.
KEY BACKGROUND
The text of the resolution creating the committee which passed the House last month with the votes of all Democrats and two Republicans allows Pelosi to appoint all 13 members of the committee, including five after consultation with McCarthy. Earlier this month, Pelosi tapped Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), who voted for the committee, and seven Democrats to serve on the committee.
